A Few Words About Me
Born in Puerto Rico Melissa Marty is one of the most beautiful faces of Hispanic television and certainly has one of the noblest and most charismatic hearts. A versatile model, actress, dancer and singer, Marty is no stranger to beauty pageants and television. After representing her hometown of Caguas in the “Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2007”, Marty assumed the role of host for a local television show where she had the opportunity to showcase her talents and gain valuable experience in the entertainment industry that well served as gold in the next stage of her life.
Marty officially began her career as the winner of the second season of Univision’s hit beauty pageant reality show “Nuestra Belleza Latina” in 2008. During that year she served as guest presenter and reporter for several Univision entertainment and variety shows such as “El Gordo y La Flaca” and “Despierta America”. After her year as Nuestra Belleza Latina was over she remained as Host and Co-producer of the monthly summary for Univision On Demand. In 2010 Galavision welcomes Marty as their first official talent where she was to co-host a national entertainment show called “Acceso Máximo”.
Winning the title of Nuestra Belleza Latina 2008 also opened the doors to the world of business where she has worked for prestigious brands such as Mastercard, Mary-Kay, Garnier, JCPenny, Comcast, Maybelline, Statefarm and EA Sports.
In late 2010 Melissa stood out as host and producer of “En Persona”, a unique program that included biographical profiles, exclusive interviews and personal stories about Hispanic celebrities nominated for prestigious events as the “Latin GRAMMY ® Awards “,” Premio Lo Nuestro ®” for Hispanic Music and “Premios Juventud “. Marty also hosted “Univision In Studio”, a series of exclusive interviews with some of the biggest celebrities as well as the new and upcoming artists.
Since the “Latin GRAMMY ® Awards” of 2009, Marty was the spokesman for the successful campaign of the American Heart Association “Go Red Por Tu Corazón” aimed to educate Hispanic women about the # 1 cause of death among them. This representation continued in effect until late 2010.
In 2012, as part of her artistic development and no longer being a part of Univision Networks, Marty faces what she labels as “the biggest challenge of her life”. Moving to Los Angeles, California, Melissa decides to follow her heart with one of the passion’s she’s had since childhood, acting.
Marty holds a bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication Studies from the University of Puerto Rico, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
She now resides in Los Angeles, California
